Good morning I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to share some additional information with you regarding the J-Hawks program. We are looking for a few more players to round out our U9 & U10 Teams. If you are interested, I would encourage you to give the tryout a shot.
The J-Hawks program is a great way for your son to get involved in a more competitive baseball program. We compete in the Wisconsin State Youth Baseball League and play about 10-12 league games during the season. The League games are with the surrounding area communities, which makes travel a bit easier. The kids are selected for the team in July/August and then practice in the offseason. Practices can be held this year and then during the winter months. The team will rent gyms and practice facilities to get the kids extra work before spring. Once the season starts they play baseball, much like JAYBA, starting in early spring. The teams will play a few tournaments every year, this year I am hoping we can host our own tournament. The season will wrap up in July, the kids have a chance to play in the WSYBL Championship game as well.
If you are interested in trying out, we would love to have you. We are hosting a tryout this Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
Please take a moment to signup through our Signup Genius.
Happy Monday. I would like to start off by saying Thank you to all the Board Members for helping out this year. To all the kids and parents that stuck with our program in 2020, THANK YOU!!!!!
Rec League Fall Baseball & Softball
I have been kicking around ideas on ways to make the program better and I am looking for some feedback. I would like some feedback about creating a Fall baseball/Softball season. The Fall Baseball and Softball season would be for Rec level kids to get extra exposure in the fall. The goal would be to form a couple of teams at each level and start practicing. My goal is to provide kids with as much opportunity to learn and play as I can.
Ideally, I would put together 2-3 teams at the machine pitch and 2-3 teams at the kid pitch level. If we could get two softball teams together, that would be great as well. I have been researching the area and the only other Fall Rec programs I can find are in West Bend and Cedarburg. I have reached out to both programs to see if they would like to play with us as well, but if I can't find opponents, we would keep in Jackson. If you know of other programs for us to play, please let me know. Thoughts on this program?
Jackson J-Hawks Fall Scrimmage League
I would like to propose another idea on this front. Once the Select teams are complete, I would like to create a Jackson J-Hawks Fall Scrimmage League. The goal would be for our select teams to play other select teams in the area in the form of scrimmages. My vision includes hosting multiple scrimmages throughout fall with our community partners, Richfield, Slinger, and Hartford. Creating this Fall Scrimmage league will provide an opportunity for our select teams to get playing experience in 2020 before the offseason. Thoughts on this?
Bigler Fall Ball - Last year we participated in Bigler Fall Ball. Our teams played a majority of games in Jackson. We will be a host site in 2020 for that program again. If anyone would like to sign up for Fall Ball, I would encourage you to do so, however, registration closes Aug. 9th. We do not currently have any teams participating, if you would like to form a team, please let me know.
The Jackson J-Hawks formed in 2007 when a group of Dad's wanted to create a more competitive experience for their boys. The J-Hawk nation was born. The group started with one U10 team in 2007 and by 2010 they had a total of 4 teams. Over the years the program has grown immensely. Since 2007, we have been working hard to keep this program going and we are always striving to improve. We believe in offering the kids a competitive baseball experience that will allow them to learn the game of baseball and play at a competitive level.
J-Hawk families enjoy the flexibility of 12-14 league games and 3-4 tournaments each year. The baseball season starts with tryouts in July, indoor practices starting in January, and live baseball games in May. All home games are played at Town Hall Fields in the Town of Jackson. Fields are groomed and maintained daily to offer the kids the most ideal playing surface anywhere. Our Home diamonds have an amazing concession stand offering everything you need on game day. The only thing you have to do is show up and PLAY BALL.
Are you interested in trying out for J-Hawks but missed the tryout?
We are excited to announce we will be hosting additional tryouts for families that couldn't make it. We are accepting tryouts participants for all levels. No residency requirements. Sign up for the correct age group and we will reach out to you to schedule a tryout.
J-Hawk Levels: U9 - U10 - U11 - U12 - U13 - U14
U9 & U10 Tryouts - Tuesday, Aug. 4th at 6:30 pm - Field 1
U11, U12, & U13 - Thursday, Aug. 6th at 6:00 pm - Fields 2 & 3
Although it seems obvious, if a field has been chalked for a game, please do not play on that field.
Our fields are groomed and chalked during the day, we have 5 fields to play on, plus batting cages. Please stay off the fields once they have been chalked. If you have scheduled practice with your team, please make sure you add it to the Master Schedule so the Field Operations Team knows about the practice and can plan accordingly.
Welcome to the 2020 Baseball, Softball, and T Ball season. We are excited you have decided to join us this year. As we all know this year is going to be unique. We are going to need to make some adjustments to our games and practices so that everyone stays safe and healthy. Practices will start next week, games will begin June 15th, the season will wrap up in early August. If your child's coach has not reached out to you, please reach out to them or myself to let me know.
Please have your children wash their hands before and after every practice. Please send them with sanitizer if you feel they will use it. We will also have sanitizer available at the park.
Guests at the park need to practice social distancing when possible. Please plan to bring lawn chairs, blankets, or whatever you would like to sit on for the games, the bleachers will be CLOSED.
Coaches will be provided with sanitizing wipes to help keep the equipment clean. The wipe buckets will be stored in the Coaches Closet and the coaches will have access to them before each game.
Players should try to separate as much as possible in the dugout. We will be opening up the dugouts a bit so that the kids can spread out along the baseline.
Kids should bring their own helmet, glove, and bat. We will have team helmets available, if your child needs one to use for the season, please work with the coach to get them a helmet assigned for the season. If your child doesn't have their own bat, we can always wipe the bat clean or buy your child batting gloves to wear when they hit.
Please plan to eliminate Team Snacks after each game.
If you are sick or have symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home and notify your coach asap.
If you have a family member that has tested positive for COVID-19, please stay home and notify your coach.
Kids playing at the park need to be supervised, please have your children use sanitizer when they are done playing.
The bathrooms will be closed unless we can get the Town to approve of them being unlocked (fingers crossed). We have ordered 4 portable toilets, we will do our best to keep them clean, however, we do not pay anyone for this service, therefore your help keeping them clean is appreciated.
Concessions will NOT be available unless the Town reverses its decision to prohibit us from providing concessions. We are deeply saddened by the Town decision to keep the concession stand closed, that being said, volunteer hours are going to be a bit of a challenge. I am hoping to provide everyone with more direction in the coming days. In the meantime feel free to bring coolers and beverages for your family, please pick up after yourself.

Jackson Area Youth Baseball Association (JAYBA) & Jackson J-Hawks
Jackson Area Youth Baseball Association (JAYBA or Jackson Baseball) hosts monthly meetings to discuss all topics relevant to the league and league operations. Our Board meetings range from an hour to an hour and a half and occur the first Tuesday of each month both during the season and offseason. Our organization works together to collaborate on all necessary elements of both programs with the goal of delivering a superior baseball/softball/tball experience for the entire community.
Moving forward we would like to post our monthly agendas for you all to see., they will be located under the Documents tab, under Agendas. Our goal is to be transparent and upfront about the issues we face every season. Topics range from annual fees, league opponents, field improvements, Town Hall relationships, and much more. We encourage you to read the agendas and offer feedback on the relevant topics. Additionally, we encourage everyone to offer positive or corrective feedback on the program and ways to improve it. If you have any questions about any of the topics, please feel free to reach out to us for more information.
