JAYBA J-Hawks Select Baseball Tryouts

Hi JAYBA Parents,

Good afternoon I hope you all are doing well. I wanted to take a moment to introduce our new J-Hawks Director Adam Berg. Adam is currently coaching the U13 J-Hawks team and has years of experience. Adam is hard at work already planning for the 2022 season.

If you aren't familiar with the JAYBA J-Hawks let me help. The J-Hawks were formed roughly 10 years ago to meet the competitive needs of players in the JAYBA Program. One of the founder members of the J-Hawks franchise is still coaching in this league today. The J-Hawks are our very own Select Baseball Club and we are very proud of them and the work the coaches put into helping these boys.

Please take a moment to welcome him to this leadership role. Our focus right now are the upcoming tryouts. The tryouts will be held at Town Hall Fields on Aug. 5th and Aug. 7th. Please register by clicking the link below.

Benefits include:

  • Teams for boys 9-14 (must be age-eligible on May 1st, 2022)
    • U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, & U14 Teams
  • Low fees ($400-600) per player (fundraising available)
  • Professional Instructors (2021 budget was $600 per team)
  • Indoor practice facility access (Jan, Feb, March 2022)
  • High-quality custom uniforms
  • Custom bat bags with players last name and number
  • Competitive baseball in the WSYBL League
  • Use of the Town Hall facilities year-round for practice and batting cages

NEW IN 2022

*****Professional Instruction camps in 2022*****

*****Home Tournament in Jackson in 2022*****

We are looking for coaches and players for the 2022 baseball season. Our tryouts are just around the corner and we need your help getting the players, and some new coaches, involved. Please talk to your boys and see if they are interested in taking the next step, sign up today. We are also looking to fill open coaching vacancies.

If you are at all considering a more competitive baseball experience I urge you to sign up for tryouts now. If you have questions, please reach out to me or Adam directly (312-593-4073 or adam.berg@ge.com).

Welcome to the 2021 Season

Welcome to the 2021 Baseball/Softball/Tball Season

As we start the season, I have a couple of quick reminders that will help make everyone's experience better.

The most important thing first, JOBS.

PLAYERS. It is the player's job to show up with a good attitude, excited and ready to play, they do not put players in positions, nor do they critique their teammates.

COACHES.  It is the coach's job to assign positions, come prepared to lead the team, and help players become better baseball players.  It is not their job to criticize umpires.

UMPIRES.  They are to do their best to call a fair and safe baseball game.  EVERY UMP WE HAVE WILL BE A YOUNG KID AND HE WILL MAKE MISTAKES!   Do not worry about it.

PARENTS.  It is their job to get players to the games on time, show up and cheer on the team.  Please do not coach your child during the game.  The time for making corrections is during practice, not during an at-bat.  90% of baseball is between your ears, stay out of your player's head during the competition. They have plenty going on in there already.

PARKING. Parking is allowed on the grass along the driveway. Please only park ONE car along the drive. Please DRIVE SLOW, there will be a lot of kids.

CONCESSIONS. Our Concessions stand will be open starting tonight, we will operate on most nights when there are two or more games.

RAFFLE TICKETS. All raffle tickets will be available for pickup at the concession stand. All raffle ticket stubs can be turned into the concession stand at any time.

Please remember to be kind and respectful to everyone at the park. Please refrain from using profanity and foul language. Please pick up after yourself and remember this is supposed to be fun for the kids and an enjoyable experience.

Thank you,

Greg Winn

J-Hawks Program Overview

Welcome to the Jackson J-Hawks Website

The Jackson J-Hawks formed in 2007 when a group of Dad's wanted to create a more competitive experience for their boys. The J-Hawk nation was born. The group started with one U10 team in 2007 and by 2010 they had a total of 4 teams. Over the years the program has grown immensely. Since 2007, we have been working hard to keep this program going and we are always striving to improve. We believe in offering the kids a competitive baseball experience that will allow them to learn the game of baseball and play at a competitive level.

J-Hawk families enjoy the flexibility of 12-14 league games and 3-4 tournaments each year. The baseball season starts with tryouts in July, indoor practices starting in January, and live baseball games in May. All home games are played at Town Hall Fields in the Town of Jackson. Fields are groomed and maintained daily to offer the kids the most ideal playing surface anywhere. Our Home diamonds have an amazing concession stand offering everything you need on game day. The only thing you have to do is show up and PLAY BALL.

Thank you for the many years of support.
