Good afternoon. I hope you are all having an amazing day. I want to start off by saying "Thank you" from everyone on the JAYBA Board. This year we implemented a lot of new things and made many changes; I wanted to give those people some recognition. I have to thank Paul & Krista Kuber for doing an amazing job on the concession stand reboot. This is the first year Paul and Krista were in this role and without a doubt they took the concession stand to a whole new level, thanks again you two. I would also like to shout out to Joe Setzer for doing an amazing job on the Board. Joe was responsible for all the score updates, website improvements, and a lot of the Facebook communication. In addition to managing the technology side of things, Joe was also responsible for our new look JAYBA uniforms; I hope you all like them as much as we did. Lastly, Joe has done a great job growing our network of sponsors and providing them with information about league activities and providing them opportunities to get involved. This year we also instituted a new way of managing the infield diamonds at Town Hall. We have hired a very hardworking young man in Steven Pfaff. Steven worked hard day-in and day-out to help make the fields as nice as possible, providing our coaches and teams with a groomed and chalked field, daily. Great work Steven.
This year we had a lot of rain issues. The JAYBA Party was no exception, for those of you that were not able to make it, the morning was dry but the rest of the day it rained periodically. Overall, the JAYBA Party was a huge success. We were able to get all of our games played, except the Coaches Softball game. For the first time this year, the kids participated in a player parade, which would have been even better if it hadn't rained. Once the we were all wet, the party was even better, everyone seemed to have more fun in the rain. Hopefully next year the rain will not be an issue.
Finally, I would like to say thank you for an amazing year. I have enjoyed getting to know the kids and parents throughout the year and I hope you will all be back next year. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. If you have ideas or would like to help on our Board, we would love your help. We have many Coordinator positions open; they require a little time and effort and are mostly in place to faciliate communication with the parents, coaches, and players. Please consider joining our team.
Good morning and Happy Friday. We want everyone to know we are watching the weather closely and we are hoping things will work out for the party. We are planning to move ahead with the party, and we are hoping for the best. Depending on how much rain we get, the games may be canceled however the party will not. If the games are canceled, we plan to host the rest of our events including; dunk tank, raffle drawing, bounce houses, water wars, player ceremony, parent/kid kickball, photo booth, and the coaches softball game (depending on field conditions). We are doing our best to make this party happen, despite the forecast.
A couple of notes:
We plan to have the dunk tank delivered tonight to get it filled up; this will help warm the water overnight. If you are at Town Hall tonight and you see the dunk tank, please stay off it.
It would be a good idea to bring the following: chairs, easy up tents or umbrellas, towels for kids doing the water wars or for the coaches in the dunk tank, sunscreen, and perhaps a change of clothes. Please bring your raffle tickets so we can add them to the drawing. Please have the kids wear their jerseys and hats for the player ceremony and the games,
We will have a lot of food and beverages priced really low so that this event is affordable and so that everyone can enjoy watching the kids and adults having fun. We are planning to sell wristbands for $5 per kid, kids 4 and under do not need to purchase a wristband. The wristband will include all events except the dunk tank and snow cone maker. Food and beer will be available for purchase through the concession stand.
Your child has a game on Saturday, July 14th, if he/she is unable to make the game, please let your coach know. The awards ceremony will occur at 1:45 pm, your child will be receiving a gift for participating in the 2018 season.
Your raffle tickets are due now. If you have NOT picked up your raffle tickets yet, they will not be entered into the raffle drawing. If you need to pick up your raffle tickets, you need to do so at the concession stand ASAP. The stand is closed tonight, due to lack of games, but will reopen tomorrow.
