As you register your children for the 2012 season, we ask that you consider a position with the JAYBA board.  We have had a few open positions since last season which include:


+Apparel coordinator:  This position will assist with getting the uniforms distributed.

+Scheduling coordinator:  This position will assist with publishing the schedule.

+Umpire coordinator:  This person will assist with coordinating the umpire schedule.

+Clinics\Evaluations coordinator: This person will assist with coordinating player\coach clinics.

+Concessions coordinator: This person will assist with coordinating the concession stand

Welcome to open registration for the 2012 season!  You can begin the process by going to the "Register Online" item on the Home Page menu or you can click here to begin.  Registration will be active until 1/31/2012.    

Please follow all instructions regarding volunteering, fundraising, and age requirements.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at   or  .

You will once again have the option to either pay online by debit/credit card, mail a check, or bring your cash/check to our in-person registration on 1/28.  If you currently have a player in the J-Hawks program, your total due will reflect any outstanding amounts from that program as well.

We will have 1 in-person registration available.  This will be held at the Community Center in Jackson on Sat, Jan 28th from 10am - 2pm.  This will also be the time for you to come and pick-up your candy bars or discount cards if you ordered them online.

Please note there were only a few changes in registration from 2011.  They inlcude:

1.) Senior Girls will be moving to fast pitch.

2.) Families that are only registering a T-Ball player(s) will not be required to do fundraising.

This notice is to update you on the current baseball bat ban being used by the Little League.  While we are not affiliated with Little League, we do look to them for guidance on rules and safety concerns.  Little League posted a notice at the beginning of January detailing out a ban on certain composite baseball bats for 2011.  JAYBA will NOT be imposing a ban for 2011.  However, we are taking this under serious consideration for the 2012 season.  Also, we cannot control the rules for the J-Hawks tournaments and we will need to update those impacted players as receive more information.  Softball bats have not been impacted at this point.

The reason for this moratorium is based on the rate at which the baseball leaves the bat upon impact.  In composite barrel bats, the exit speeds are often higher than what is posted on the bat and higher than acceptable standards already in place.  Due to this fact, Little League has decided to eliminate the use of these bats.  While we agree with the safety aspect of this ban, we found it difficult to ask parents who may have recently purchased one of these bats to replace it.  We also know that there are very few of these bats currently in use in our league.

We are providing 2 links below to documentation regarding which bats are LEGAL.  These bats include some 2 piece bats and composite handle bats are LEGAL.  If you have any questions, please contact us.  Given that this is a new development, we can expect further clarification and information to be given as we approach the season.

Again, we are NOT imposing a ban or moratorium for the 2011 season.  Even if your bat is not on the below list, it will still be legal for the 2011 JAYBA season (assuming it fell within the accepted guidelines of JAYBA previously).  This is just to provide you with information on what is happening in Little League and what may happen in JAYBA for 2012.
